Profile:
The Internet of Things (IoT) is everywhere. It’s connecting your personal cell phone, car and appliances at home, and it’s making roads, cities, offices and appliances smarter. In every sector of the economy, IoT is enabling objects to exchange data with manufacturers, operators and other devices – creating a vast integrated network of connected things and services where innovation can thrive.
Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), including Galileo, play a key role in the Internet of Things, providing the positioning, velocity and timing information required by an increasing number of context-aware applications.
The European GNSS Agency, manages the service provision of Galileo, fostering its adoption across a wide range of applications, and raising awareness on the benefits of Galileo for IoT in terms of better accuracy and availability of positioning to localize the interconnected objects more precisely in outdoor environments.
